I'm so through

I have always been extremely open minded person and I understand that everyone can't be that way but damn. I posted a topic on Nappturality that in which I wanted to know who thought any one could be natural. Some how one of the chicks turn six freaking words that didn't even need to be taken seriously "she prolly never should have considered perming" into something else. Basically, she was accusing me of being ignorant which I am far from. Obviously, her and so many others have nothing better to do than be Natural Nazis. I'm am truly considering stoping all nappturality, blackhairmedia, and hair blog viewing.

Hey there,

I'm a member of nappturality as well and I believe "if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all".

I have been attacked there as well but I let that bullskit roll and learned to ignore the negative posters as most are super nice and helpful.

Don't let the negative break your spirit. Keep doing YOU and keep doing what you do.

I was clueless when I began my natural journey October 2007 and would have never made it this far without the help I received on the site.

Im a member on there too. I dont visit the site for the same reasons. I always feel like an outsider intruding upon a clique of some sort... in their case, the Nappy Nazi Clique. Not welcomed at all. When I post on LHCF, I always feel 'the love' from other members. They can sympathize with your frustrations and be happy for/with you when you accomplish something [relaxed and naturals on there].

Brush the dirt off and keep smiling! :-)

I used to be a member of nappturality a longgg time ago. I left because they turned flat ironing into something ridiculous like devil's burning tool or whatever it was.

I really do think there are people on that site who are probably very meek in real life but use the internet as a mouthpiece for extreme thoughts and views.

After leaving, I have never recommended nappturality to anyone. As much as I see it as one of the first sites to celebrate natural hair, I also see that extreme views are not only permissible, they are in many circumstances praised and this is dangerous.

I was also on LHCF but I left when they started charging. Yes I'm cheap lol. I think it was an OK site, at the time I was there, there were just a handful of naturals and quite a few did get texturizers or relax and in my mind that was because of the dominance of relaxed heads. I haven't looked at the site for 5/6 years now so my experience is probably not relevant.

Finally, I just want to say that no matter where you go, there will always be drama. I have seen a lottt of unnecessary drama on forums and blogs. I guess I decided to set up my own drama free blog just as you have also probably done too.

I do think that forums and blogs are great support systems for naturals. I completely understand if you want to leave it all, but I can be selfish and ask you not to leave your blog because I like it (just asking :))

I totally agree with JC the drama is going to continue anywhere you go!

I am also a member of that same site and I have recently cut back on the amount of posting that I do. I just read the forums for information...that's it.
