So I have been using my black soap mix this week. I realize that I need to try the black soap out for at least a few weeks to see how it works out but I'm still debating how I should go about that. I normally use my St. Ive's Apricot scrub every other day, but I really don't know if I should be using it if I'm trying only see the results from the black soap. On top of that when I apply my ACV as my toner my face burns like crazy now and I don't know exactly how I should read that. Also, yesterday I noticed my face is starting to peal which I thought was a bad thing...until this morning I noticed my complexion is starting to look more clear. Could my skin pealing be a sign that my newer better skin is trying to peak through lol.
I also put in my mini twists last weekend and I hate the front of my hair already. I really can't stand the frizz. I try to ignore it but I feel like a fuzz ball. I used coconut oil and shea butter when twisting. I spray my hair with water and a few oils daily and sleep with a bonnet at night. I don't know what I'm doing wrong maybe its the water idk. My hair always feels moisturized. The back of my hair feels like I put twists in yesterday but the front looks like they've been in a month ugh. If I wasn't so tired I would redo the front this weekend. I will update again soon.
Toodles.

Progress Feels Good
So today I'm at work Yeaa...not! But I'm taking full advantage of my time here. I was blessed enough to snag up a lab assistant job on campus that allows me to do homework 99.5% of the time. Yes! Seriously, I go over and beyond what is required of me and they encourage us to do homework. The only downfall is the low pay...can't win them all lol.
Anyways, last night when I got off of work I pre-pooed with grapeseed, castor, and coconut oil. I was tired and couldn't quite remember whats supposed to go in a pre-poo so I just threw some oil in a container and applied them to my head. I braided my hair in a few sections and put on a shower cap to sleep so I wouldn't get my pillow all oily. Then, I washed my face with diluted castile soap and used my acv as my toner. Finally, I applied EVOO to my face as suggested by Tania. This morning my face didn't have any new bumps or anything so thats the first good sign :)
When I arrived to work I finished my resume. Yes! I'm so happy to be done with it and it looks good. An intelligent, diva I've known for years helped be with it and its looks great! Hit her up she's really good at what she does. We have to support each other ya'll.

It's only 10:15am on a Saturday and I've already:
Prepared my hair for washing/dc
Walked/Fed my doggy
Taken my Vitamins
Sent a Happy BDay text
Polished off my resume
When I get back home I'm going to wash with the black soap I liquefied(It's been setting for 3days now). Then use up the rest of my commercial purchased condish(It's actually a decent product, but I'm still not getting more) mixed with EVOO as my DC. Lastly, I'm going to put in a fresh set of mini two-strand twists. My bf's mom always using a comb so I'm going to try her method this time to get the true longevity of the style plus use a method I sorta made up. Keep ur fingers crossed with me haha.
That is HIGHLY impressive for me. Thank God for another productive day. Have a blessed weekend Loves.

Trying Black Soap Again
I woke up this morning and decided to try liquefying my black soap again. If all goes well I will use this for my face, body, and hair. Since my skin is so sensitive I'm not sure if this will work out well but hey y not try. This my second time trying black soap. The first time the soap worked fine but I believe I added too much water and I didn't document the results. This time I used two videos for guidance by DuchessGabrielle and NeicyGoingNatural I'm letting it settle for three days. I will take pictures to keep up with my results.

Give and Get, Great!
Well, I've seen their commercial and you may or may not have yet. I'm talking about TOMS Shoes. We recently did a case study on the company and they impressed me. Honestly, its just what I needed. I needed shoes and I would love to donate to those in need but I barely have enough money for myself. I won't give u too many details because all the info is in the video(I got a little irritated when my classmates thought it would be a great idea to give a presentation today by telling us exactly what the entire class had already seen on the video lol). I just purchased my first pair last night and I can't wait to get them.

Hair Confusion
I have been searching for staple products for years now, looking to find the ones that "work" for me. What the heck does that mean exactly. Not brittle?...uh none of my products leave my hair brittle. Besides that....what are other ways beyond the shine of ur hair that lets u know ur doing something right. Breakage hasn't been a problem since I've been natural so that doesn't help. Spilt ends?...maybe I could be more aware of that if I actually looked at my ends more often(Yea that's definitely on my lists of things to do).
I think my main obstacle is that I'm trying to kick all commercial products to the curb. This is in regards to my hair, face, body(including lotions), and maybe even deodorant. This has been a hard task, not so much because I like all the products I already have so much but because I'm too cheap to throw it all away lol. I currently have a few commercial products left, but the majority of my tote of products are oils, shea butter, black soap, castile soap, acv, and the list continues.
I've been told so many things about what our hair needs from so many ppl I don't know who to trust now lol. I'm worried that I'm going to f up my hair to tell u the truth. Maybe I should continue with my trial and error and cross my fingers that nothing will go wrong.
Soooo I'm definitely still looking for a few concoctions(or a element) for the following:
Hair
Face

Hair
- Deep Condish(Do I really even need it now?)
- Hair Moisturizer/Leave-In(Is it true that an oil might be all I need? If u can prepoo with just castor/coconut/evoo/jojoba oils and it does wonders with ur moisture after washing it out y can't I use it as a moisturizer on a frequent basis?)
Face
- Mild Face Moisturizer (Both Coconut and Shea Butter break my face out on during warm months)
- Toner(I'm using ACV and it keeps my face ok just ok)

Thinking...Natural
Commenter said: u make me wanna go natural...I just don't like dealing with hair at all...n my hair is way 2 thick to not be relaxed...so idk, maybe I'll try after the summer
I say: There are so many things I can say to that. First, one of the most important things a person needs to have with natural hair is patience(or a lot of money if you want someone to do it for you all the time lol). So if u don't like dealing with hair and don't want to, being natural is really really hard. Second, when was the last time u've dealt with your natural hair? I don't mean that stage that ur hair is in right before ur go get another relaxer when the new growth is showing its face...or what ur hair was like as a child before ur first relaxer...or even what ur hair is like with a relaxer...basically u can't truly know what ur natural hair is like until after u have ur BC. Relaxers(or texturizers or texlaxs) can sometimes make the hair even harder to manage. Also, our hair changes over time, for example, my hair is NOTHING like it was when I was a child. No hair is too thick to be natural y do u think that?
Like many things in life u have to reach a breaking point where ur mind is made up. For me, it was a time that my relaxed hair was cool and no big hassle. The one thing that constantly bothered me was my hair seemed like it had been the same darn length for years. Spending money on relaxers every 9 weeks for what...I felt like I was paying money for my hair to look exactly the same as before...I was making no progress.
I adored natural styles on other ppl and one key thing was I didn't wish my hair was like theirs. Instead, I wanted to know what my hair would be like natural. Actually, seeing their hair made be think about how different my hair would be from theirs. I didn't care what texture I was going to have I was ready for anything. A friend of mine decided to stop relaxing and I jumped on the boat. I had no idea what I was doing but I researched my butt off and learned. No one from home was natural so I had no motivation up there...actually they motivated me to not be just like them haha. The natural girl I knew at school wore mostly semi-straight styles...it was cute but I didn't want to deal with putting heat on my hair all the time. My best friend's hair from my first school was awesome to me! She told me stories of how it took her 5 or so hours to achieve her styles, but oddly that didn't deter me. Her hair was very thick and coarse and beautiful.
My main point is try not to have preconceived ideas about what ur hair would be like. U have to be accepting to what the creator already decided. Have u already set and reached ur hair goal? Even if u decide to stay relaxed make sure ur taking care of ur hair. Happy Hair Growing.
